Antique Scandinavian Walking Cane Silver Crook Handle
Antique walking cane c. 1900-1925. Of Scandinavian make, possibly Norwegian. Crook handle of solid silver, hallmarked "830S" (high purity 83% silver) followed by a crescent shape and the letters "E.A.". Cane made of a dark brown wood with a tight straight grain, likely ebony or a similar wood, which has been further ebonised to a rich dark brown colour. The original owner's name is engraved on the handle, an M.A. Winsvold of Slemdal (Norway), surrounded by beautiful engraved laurel wreaths and swags. Scuffs and wear commensurate with age and use, particularly towards the bottom of the cane. A very beautiful and unique piece.
